Loon Observation Paddle on Lower St. Regis Lake

Join us for a 4- hour guided paddle on Lower St. Regis to learn about the loons that live there! For this event, the Paul Smith’s College VIC hosts Jen Denny, ACLC’s Education Coordinator, who will lead this special loon observation trip.

In a small group setting conducive to social distancing, we will learn about the fascinating lives of loons that travel to the Adirondacks each year to nest and raise their young, as well as the conservation concerns that affect loons and the aquatic ecosystems where they live.

Pricing: $30/child, $45/ Adult 18+.

Please provide and transport your own canoe or kayak. Canoes and paddling gear can be rented from the Paul Smith’s College VIC for an additional $25/person.

Please Bring:

  • PFD (required to wear while paddling)

  • Full lunch, beverage, and snacks

  • Hat

  • Binoculars and/or camera

  • Bug protection

  • Water shoes

  • Rain gear

  • Windbreaker

  • Mask

  • Headlamp

Hand sanitizer will be provided.

Field trip will launch from the Black Pond trail head on Keese Mill Road – be on time. Boats, paddles and PFDs are available if needed for an additional fee
