Book Talk and Reading: Loon Lessons by Jim Paruk

At SUNY ESF’s Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC), Dr. Jim Paruk will present on his new book: Loon Lessons: Uncommon Encounters with the Great Northern Diver . This presentation begins at 1:30 pm with a short talk about Common Loons by Dr. Paruk and will include a reading from the book. This event is free and open to the public.

Jim Paruk is a Professor of Biology at St. Joseph’s College, in Maine, and has been studying Common Loons across North America for the past 28 years. He has published over 25 scientific articles on loons and recently wrote a book, Loon Lessons: Uncommon Encounters with the Great Northern Diver (University of Minnesota Press), that takes an evolutionary approach to understanding their behavior and life history strategy.
