Loon Zoom: Adirondack Loon Rescues & Recoveries Through the Years

  • Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation 75 Main Street Saranac Lake, NY, 12983 United States (map)

Dr. Nina Schoch, Executive Director and Director of Science and Conservation at the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation (ACLC), will kick off our 2024-2025 Loon Zoom series with a presentation about her decades of experience conducting rescues and recoveries of injured or sick Adirondack loons. Responding to individual loons in distress is a major component of ACLC's conservation efforts, and Dr. Schoch will provide an overview of why this is important to Adirondack loon conservation and offer insights about what she has observed regarding trends in threats to loons. Gary Lee, long-time ACLC field staff members and loon naturalist, will join Dr. Schoch in the presentation to share his own experiences rescuing and recovering loons in the Adirondacks. There will be time for questions.

A zoom link will be sent to registrants on November 13th. Donors, use your discount code to attend for free! A recording of the Loon Zoom will be sent to all who signed-up.
