Join ACLC and the Southern Adirondack Audubon Society to learn about how climate change impacts Adirondack loons.
Over the last two decades, Adirondack loons have experienced increasing nest failure due to climate-change-related torrential rain events. The timing of loon migration has also been affected by shorter and milder winters, resulting in a "molt-migration mismatch," and causing an increasing incidence of loons becoming "iced-in" during late winter.
